Living in Allentown, PA and working throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York, Michael Traupman has developed a strong following among audiences throughout the region. He has appeared in more than a dozen theatrical productions regionally and regularly appears at private and corporate events, and at the Monday Night Showcase produced by Bob Egan Entertainment at Bob Egan’s Cosmopolitan Club in New Hope, PA. With musical director Cris Frisco, Traupman made his solo cabaret debut in April 2006 at the former Odette’s in New Hope. Over the last four years, Traupman has appeared regularly with singers Kate Varley and Susan Whiteneck in Bob Egan Entertainment’s “The Lullaby of Broadway Trio” at various locations throughout Bucks County and the Philadelphia Metro area. Vice President of the Board of Civic Theatre of Allentown, Traupman has appeared in multiple productions with the Allentown group. He last appeared as Serge in their production of Yazmina Rema’s “Art.” Traupman’s other credits include Cleanté in Moliere’s “The Imaginary Invalid,” Bobby in “Company,” Franklin Shepherd in “Merrily We Roll Along,” the Baron in “Grand Hotel,” Gary/Roger in “Noises Off” and Young Buddy in “Follies.” Additionally, he has appeared in productions of “My Favorite Year,” “The Secret Garden,” Feydeau’s “Going to Pot,” Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” and Shaffer’s “Five Finger Exercise.” Traupman directed and produced a string of fundraising concerts featuring the works of America’s favorite Tin Pan Alley composers — among them “The Music of Harry Warren” with cabaret legend Margaret Whiting — and sang with the vocal trio, Swing City Central for more than a decade. As a vocalist, Traupman has performed both ensemble and solo work in the Western Antilles, London (U.K), New York, Philadelphia and Washington, DC. By day, Traupman has developed a successful career in marketing and public relations. For two seasons, he was the Director of Press and Publications for the former Pennsylvania Stage Company (Lort D). He also served as an associate editor for Rodale’s New Farm magazine. For the last several years, Traupman has been Executive Director for College Relations at Cedar Crest College in Allentown. He continues to study voice with New York and Pennsylvania-based vocal coach, Carolyn Marcell.
